The First Cap

All right, Dougians, I know it's a little late, but problems have been facing the Church. Shooteran persecutions are taking their toll. *Sigh*. One day, the light of Douglas will engulf us. For He truly did have a heart attack to save literature, and we must uphold this belief. The Flames of Margaret Atwood can finally be quenched! Douglas Adams came to do so.

April 26th was to be the first day of our book club. Sadly, complications arose. For those of you who are planning to read along, I think I can take it upon myself to set a chapter cap that is simple.
I would say that before next Thursday, on May 3rd, that you be on the beginning of Chapter Three. Another name for this, by a system, is Hitchhiker's 3:1.

The first word states the book, i.e. Restaurant 1:5.
The first number is the chapter, so the above example would show Chapter One. The second number is the paragraph. So, the above states that the verse being quoted is from the fifth paragraph in the first chapter of Restaurant at the End of the Universe.

You need not worry, we are far from that verse.

However, for some practice, I will begin the cap at: Hitchhiker's 3:1. Basically, read to the beginning of chapter three by next Thursday!

Cheers, all.

I seem to be writing a lot! Haha. However, I feel that I must write for Douglas. I will begin this first mass by giving a simple introduction on the prologue of the book, "Chapter 0".

This chapter states two things:

1) People on Earth are generally unhappy and miserable.

2) The Guide has never been published on Earth. Also, that many humans are ignorant to it.

Could this be a connection? Could the reason for all human suffering be the simple fact that many are ignorant to the words of Douglas Adams? I think this is so. For, what else would you feel if you were surrounded by depressing literature, or compelled by primitive writing skills? I'd be unhappy, too! I'm sure we all would.

These simple lines in Chapter 0 give us a message. We need to spread this literature to the world. We NEED to continue the work of Douglas. For, he may have had a heart attack, but we can continue His pulse! Do you not see it?

The Guide is not known to everyone...so we should change that. If we plant the seeds of the Guide for people to harvest, than the crop of misery can end forever. Wouldn't that be joyous? Literature can be restored to its origins!

So, using this word, I can safely say this: if you have a copy of the Guide, share it. If you know someone who's unhappy in the reading world, pass them a copy of the Guide. Any of the Five Tomes, just pass it on. Spread the good word! This is our JOB.

I am sure that once they read it, a smile will replace their frown. From then on, they can become the new people of Douglas. This very young Church can thrive...and all it needs is a little bit of sharing. Sharing with the world. This is what Douglas wanted us to do...so let's do it.

I have one final verse from Chapter 0 that supports this. The final line in the chapter of the First Tome states:

"It begins with a house."

This simple sentence has powerful meaning that connects with the other two above. That "house" is this Church. It ALL begins with a house! This ministry of Douglas can all begin with US! U-S, us! And so, if we can establish a good footing, and persevere the Shooterans...it's clear sailing.

It's clear sailing. Our boats...will find a new shore. Like Columbus, we can discover new things for Douglas, new people. It all begins with a house. Let's be that house.

May the Tomes guide us in our thinking. Douglas Adams saved literature, and we must continue to save it in His succession.

Amen.

P.S. My two cents...or two dollars.
